Real Wedding | Gareth + Sarah, Perry’s Paddock — Dear Romance Wedding Magazine

Gareth & Sarah met in high school, when they were set up for a school ball. Although not keen on one another at first, they started dating – and here we are 16 years later.

They knew they didn’t want to have a long engagement, so they came up with the idea to have a surprise wedding – all to be planned in just 6 weeks!

They told their guests they were having an engagement party at their house – and asked for everyone to be on time cos the photographer was going to take a group shot of everyone before the party really started!

Once the group shot was out of the way, Sarah made the announcement they were off to a wedding – and a bus pulled up to take them all to Perry’s Paddock for their ceremony!

Don’t sweat the small stuff!

What’s one thing you wish you knew before planning a wedding?

You will want the band to play all night!

Do you have any funny stories from the day?

Yes! When the celebrant handed over our vows to read – they weren’t ours! It definitely gave us all a giggle!

Did Covid affect your wedding day at all?

We were so lucky! Because we planned the wedding in such a short space of time, the borders opened just long enough for our interstate guests to make it over. The following week, Perth went into lockdown!
